Women of Aleto Clan has visited the palace of His Royal Majesty, King (Dr.) Philip Obele JP., Acting Oneh Eh Eleme Land to felicitate and rejoice with the new king over his elevation as the Acting King of Eleme Kingdom by the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON.
Leader of the delegation, Her Majesty, Chief (Mrs.) Evelyn Ada Gokpa, Emere Owa Eh Eleme/Nchia/Aleto who spoke on behalf of the women drawn from the various communities in Aleto described the King Philip Osaro Obele as man who has in time past impacted positively on the lives of many. She said Eleme in general and Aleto people in particular has benefitted in no small measures from the good work of His Royal Majesty, King Obele.
Emere Owa Ada Gokpa maintained that Aleto has been so elevated beyond expectations due to the roles played by His Royal Majesty, Emere Philip Obele especially by supporting ventures targeted at promoting development in the community. She said today, indigenes from Aleto receive payment of dividends from the 7.5 equity shares acquired by Elano Investments Limited for the host communities in Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited.
She further said King Obele in addition to his wealth of experience as a frontline recognized traditional ruler in the Eleme council of chiefs and elders is a renowned custodian of the Eleme culture and traditions, adding that Aleto and Eleme Council of Chiefs and Elders have benefitted from his vast cultural and administrative experience. “Our king is a peaceful and loving man, and today the entire Eleme kingdom can attest to the fact that Eleme people are living in peace. We are happy that you are now our king and may God give you the knowledge and wisdom to pilot the affairs of the people”, she prayed.
In his response, the Acting King of Eleme Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Emere (Dr.) Philip Obele in company of members of Aleto council off chiefs and elders thanked the Aleto women for their visit, recognition and honour accorded him. He said it showed that Aleto women are united and stand for the peace and development of Aleto community.
The visibly elated King Obele in his charge to Aleto women said: “I want you all to remain united, because unity brings peace, progress and development. Unity together for good things will make the younger generation to learn and take the right footstep in life, most especially, now that we have a lot of social vices in the society. Whatever behaviour you put up will influence what the youths do and will be projected into the society. So I appreciate the way you all are living especially as you have given your life to God, and God is actually using you guys to turn the community around”.
He pledged to continue to work with other members of Eleme council of chiefs to promote peace and development in Eleme. He urged the women to continue to pray for Aleto and Eleme land.
