    Children’s Day: FRSC Organizes Safety Precaution Program

    The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Eleme Unit Command has organized a programme tagged: ‘2019 Child Safety Campaign’ for school children in Eleme local government area as part of activities to commemorate this year’s Children’s Day Celebration. The event held at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, Akpajo Eleme featured varieties such as Quiz and Dance Competition amongst participants drawn from 14 different Primary and Secondary Schools in Eleme Local Government area.     Prepaid Meters Underway In Eleme As PHEDC Embarks On Enumeration

    The recent assurance by the Federal Government through the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) that effective metering of every electricity consumer in Nigeria would commence from May 2019 seems to start yielding results. This is promoted by the issuance of official permits to Meter Asset Providers (MAPs) of Ikeja, Benin and Port Harcourt Discos in accordance with Section 4(3) of the MAP regulations.     N136m Fraud: Ex-NIMASA Boss, Calistus Obi, Bags 42 Years Jail Term Or N252 Million Fine

    Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Monday, sentenced Calistus Obi, a former acting Director-General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) to 42 years imprisonment. Also sentenced to 42 years imprisonment is Alu Dismas, an aide to Patrick Akpobolokemi, a former Director-General, NIMASA. Justice Olatoregun found the defendants guilty on counts two, three, four, six, seven and eight and sentenced them to seven years imprisonment each on each count. The sentence would, however, run concurrently. The Judge, however, gave the convicts an “option of fine” of N42 million on each of the count.     Chijioke Apostle Eze Laid To Rest

    The Founder and General Overseer of Alpha Covenant Church, Pastor Chijioke Apostle Eze has been laid to rest in his family compound in Umuogu, Isiala-Ngwa North in Abia State. Inside Eleme gathered that, Pastor Eze as he was fondly called died at the age of 68 following a brief illness.
