His Royal Highness, Sir, Emere Godwin Maduabuchi Bebe Okpabi over the weekend celebrated his 59th Birthday to thank God Almighty for keeping him alive and showering him with divine blessings amid series of unprecedented challenges relating to his throne since he mounted the throne eleven years ago.

Speaking to newsmen at his palace in Ogale, Emere Okpabi said God used the
Rivers State Governor, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Wike to shame his enemies and gave credence to the authenticity of his throne. His words: “I have been on this throne for eleven years ruling my people to the best of my ability and I use today’s occasion to thank God for sparing my life till this day. God has been nice to me”, he said.

He also used the occasion to express gratitude to his friends and the Christians, especially members of the Anglican Communion for their relentless support and fervent prayers for him and his family.
He further said the occasion was not only to thank God for adding another year to his life but to express gratitude to God for giving him strength and wisdom to overcome all the challenges relating to the throne since eleven years ago.
Chief Okpabi said he desires to see a peaceful and crime-free Ogale where the people will come together to build a peaceful Community. He called on those who feel aggrieved to sheath their swords and support ongoing effort to reconcile the parties for a peaceful and progressive Ogale Clan.
Among dignitaries present at the event were the Chairman, Rivers State Traditional Rulers’ Council, His Royal Majesty, King (Dr.) Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V, JP., Treaty King, Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Opobo Kingdom. Others were, Acting King of Eleme Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, King (Dr.) Philip Osaro Obele JP., members of the Eleme council of chiefs and elders as well as traditional rulers drawn from across Rivers State and Nigeria.
Other dignitaries and political friends of the monarch who graced the occasion included Chief Marcus Nle Ejii, Comrade Celestine Akpobari, Dr. Peter
Medee, HYPREP Coordinator, Dr. Marvin Dekil, Chairman, former Chairman, Rivers State Civil Service Commission, Chief Sir Ngo Martins Yellow amongst others.
Earlier, there was a Thanksgiving/Birthday Service held in honour of the traditional ruler at the Good Shepherd Anglican Church, Oken-Eta, Ogale where the priest, Rev. Canon Samuel Chujor used the occasion to thank God for protecting the life of Emere Godwin Bebe Okpabi and his family, and urged the parishioners and members of the public to always have faith in God when confronted with life’s challenges.
