Elano Youths Council Donates Books To Schools In Host Communities

As part of Elano’s ongoing educational empowerment programmes, the youth association of the company, Elano Youth Council has donated Exercise Books to Public Schools in the Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Host Communities.
Speaking during the presentation of the Exercise Books, Secretary of the group, Comrade Paul Nyimeone said the gesture was part of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes aimed at lifting the burden on parents of less privileged children in public schools. Some of the schools that benefitted from the book donation are: State School 1, Agbonchia, State School Aleto, Okerewa Community School, State School Akpajo, State School Elelenwo and Community Primary School, Elelenwo.
In her response, Madam Rose Alesi Yeyewa, Head Teacher of State School 1, Agbonchia Eleme expressed appreciation for the donation. While thanking Elano for the gesture, she called on other corporate concerns, NGOs and public spirited individuals in the society to emulate the kind gesture of Elano Investments Limited to help alleviate the burden of parents and guardians.
Meanwhile, Chief Gomba Okanje, the Elano Board Chairman in his reaction said the company being a youth friendly one, has always supported programmes and projects that promotes peace, unity and development of the youths and upcoming generation.
Okanje further said Elano’s support for the youths and support towards the book donation initiative by the Elano youth council is borne out of its commitment towards improving the standard of education in the Indorama Host Communities.
It would be recalled that Elano Investments Limited, had launched a massive educational empowerment programmes wherein it sponsored 11 youths to the United Kingdom for Master Degrees in various disciplines. 54 youths were also trained on various vocational skills at Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron. 11 women got trained in Hospitality Management related courses at the University of Port Harcourt Entrepreneurship Centre, while about 120 students in tertiary institutions across the nation were given Bursary Awards worth N30 Million naira.
