Fineman Olungwe Dedicates Child To God

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State and former Eleme Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Fineman Olungwe has dedicated his new born baby; little Master Anasemi Fineman Olungwe (Jnr.).

The event which was held amidst pomp and pageantry at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Akpajo Parish in Eleme Local Government Area attracted dignitaries from far and near including the likes of Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, the Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly. Others were Chief Gomba Okanje, Chairman, Board of Directors, Elano Investments Limited, Hon. Aforgi Igwe, Member-Elect for Eleme Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Prince Awanlanta Mike Ejire, His Royal Highness, Frederick Nwidaa, Paramount Ruler of Akpajo Clan, Chief Harrison Onungwe, among other dignitaries.

In a sermon at the church service, Rev. Canon Obinna D. Ochulor read the book of Psalms 30 where he spoke of King David as a man fond of praising God wherever he found himself, stressing that such attitude attracted God’s blessings to him.

He said: “David was a man who went through many issues in life but at every stage of his life, he always raised up Psalms to God that is in line with what was happening to him”.

He said in Psalms 30, David said “I will extol thee O Lord for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me”.  He noted that David always acknowledged and praised God in appreciation of God’s goodness unlike people who display ungrateful attitude.

He also said David was of the same linage with Jesus and that both David and Jesus did not lose any battle because the grandfather of Jesus who was David always praised God in all of his activities.

“Amazingly, David was the great grandfather of Jesus. David and Jesus are of the same linage. David never lost any battle in all his reign as king and so was Jesus, He did not lose any battle, all what the enemies did to defeat Jesus were not actualized because they tried their best but on the third day, Jesus Christ resurrected and took power over the pit of hell. Even death could not hold Jesus captive. So whatever cannot stop or hold Jesus captive cannot stop you because we are joint heirs of the father who is in heaven and we are of the same linage with Jesus”, he stressed.

Rev. Ochulor also called on those yet to make peace with God to turn from their evil ways and give their lives to God to benefit from what those who are rooted in Christ and have the same linage with David are benefiting.

In an interview with Inside Eleme, Hon. Fineman Olungwe expressed appreciation to God, friends, relations, the Church and all who came to honour and celebrate with his family and prayed God to reward them.

His words: “This is my last child and his name is Anasemi Fineman Olungwe (Jnr.). He was born on the same day I was born on the 8th of December. God has done it for me and God is still doing it for me and so I give God all the glory. I name my children before God because it is good to recognize God in everything He has done and in everything I do I appreciate Him and I am encouraging everybody to look up to God because without God as the base of your foundation, you cannot excel in life. If you fail to put God in the beginning of everything you do, am sorry you will not achieve it. When planning something, ask is it corresponding with the plans of God, if it is not, please change your ways and plans so you can have a good and sound life with peace of mind. Please whosoever you are, try and put God first”.

In her speech, mother of the child and wife of Mrs. Princess Fineman-Olungwe expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the grace to celebrate the birth of another child, advising those believing God for a child not to lose hope.

Hear her: “I thank God Almighty for His mercy, grace, love, favour and opportunity given to my family today. If it were to be man’s wish, my family and I wouldn’t have been celebrating today but God has been so faithful to do all He says He will do. My advice for those hoping for the fruit of the womb is that they should always focus on God, He is the author and finisher of our faith”.

She also said little Master Anasemi Fineman Olungwe (Jnr.) who is being dedicated is her 6th child.
