It was a day of joy and fun for friends, well-wishers and the families of Chief Nelson Inowei Amolo Tiengi of Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State and Late Chief S.K. Jaka of Akpajo, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State as their children Maureen Inowei and Jaka Godspower Kenwi were joined together in Holy Matrimony at the Four Square Gospel Church, Mile I, Diobu, Port Harcourt.
In a sermon at the service, the officiating minister, Rev. Sylvester Eitopriye charged the couple to honour their new marital relationship as stated in the Holy Scriptures by God.
He said, God instituted marriage to fulfill a unique purpose in life and man can only benefit from the fruits of marriage if they adhere to the purpose of marriage.
Reading from Amos 3:3, Rev. Eitopriye explained that one of the major purposes of marriage is for companionship and agreement. He urged the couple to agree with each other and do purposeful things together. “You must listen and respect one another’s opinion”, he stated.
The Pastor further mentioned other purpose of marriage to include protection of each other and for impactation. He urged the couple to protect one another and equally impact on each other by complementing their needs and heart desires. He admonished them to build their marriage on a Godly foundation and adopt a prayer lifestyle to overcome all trials and temptation in marriage.
Among the highpoints of the event at the church was the exchange of marital vow, the symbolic fixing of wedding rings and the signing of Marriages register.
It was another moment of fun and merry making at the Grace Place Event Center, at GRA Phase II, Port Harcourt as the couple accompanied by members of their families, friends and well-wisher were led to another section of glamour and joyous excitement.
The couple, Jaka and Maureen accompanied by their wedding crew matched in in a scintillating dance style and was given a standing ovation by the chairman of the reception ceremony, Hon. Josiah Olu, Member Representing Eleme in the Rivers State House of Assembly and other members of the high table which include Hon. Kendrick Oluka, General Manager, Community Relations, Indorama EPCL, Mr. Jossy Nkwocha, Special Adviser to the MD/Head of Corporate Communications of Indorama and Hon. Aforji Igwe, Member-Elect, Rivers State House of Assembly for Eleme Constituency amongst others.
The chairman of the occasion and member Representing Eleme constituency in the River State House of Assembly, Hon. Josiah Olu in his speech congratulated the couple and urged them to see their union as a step to greater things in life. He advised Jaka not to see his wife as the tail but the neck and learn to always consult with her on family decisions. He charged the wife to remain patient and submissive to her husband.
In his speech, the groom, Jaka Godspower Kenwi described his wife as a special gift from God. He said, she will always be loved and cherished as they both embark on their marital journey.
The groom expressed his sincere appreciation to all those who graced the occasion and wished them safe trip back to their respective destinations. The groom further extended his special thanks saying it goes to his boss at his place of work, Hon. Kendrick Oluka and the chairman of the ceremony, Hon. Josiah Olu for their support and presence at the wedding.
The bride, Bogofanyo Maureen Inovei in a brief interview with Inside Eleme described the union as a dream come true. ‘I married the man I love, the man of my dream, in my dream, dress made by me (Fanyo Styling Concept), I feel very happy, there was no stress”, she stated.
Bogofanyo mentioned some of the unique qualities that kept her attracted to her husband to include his patience, tolerance and genuine love. “He is really patient to take a whole lot from me, he can bear me to the minimum”, in her words. She thanked all those who took out time to share in their moment of joy and bid them farewell back to their destinations.
She thanked her team of workers of Fanyo Styling Concept, her garment designers outfit in Port Harcourt for their relentless effort towards making the wedding a success. Among the highlights of the event were the cutting of cake and the couples dance.
