It was jubilation all the way as friends, well-wishers and families of Elder Friday Okanje Obaa of Echapere Community and Late Mr. Okparaji Abga Ngofa of Ngofa Community both of Aleto Clan in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State gave out their children, Miss Princess Adankele Obaa and Comrade Sunday Agba Ngofa in marriage.
They were joined together in holy matrimony at The Zion Prophetic Ministry, off Alode Market, Alode Eleme.
In the sermon at the church service, the officiating minister, Apostle Abraham who read from Genesis 2:15-25 charged the couple to honour their new marital relationship, stressing that marriage is God’s idea and not man’s. The clergy added that the couple should understand that henceforth, they are one body.
He further stated that, “Adam had no helper and that was not good, so God caused a deep sleep to fall upon him, and he slept and God took one of his ribs and made a woman and brought her unto the man. Marriage is God’s plan and not man’s ideal, according to Genesis 2:15-25.
“Therefore, beginning from today the newly wedded couple is expected to honour their new marital relationship and understand the fact that they are one body”.
He further charged the newly wedded couple to go and manifest in their new home that God has given them.
In his speech at the reception ceremony which took place at the Aleto Primary School field, the chairman of the occasion, Chief Gomba Okanje, Emere Okura Eta I of Eleme and Board Chairman of Elano Group of Companies urged the couple to avoid third parties in their marriage. He advised them to seek the face of God who is the custodian of marriage all the time
Highpoints of the event were the cutting of cake, dance by the couple, special song performance by Chu Blaq, song by Black Boo which he titled My Rosey and the Elano Victory song.
The bride, Mrs. Princess Agba Ngofa, in an interview expressed excitement over her marriage and described her husband as a patient, humble and a jovial man. Her words: “I am very happy today, like am feeling so happy for this day. I love him because he is patient, humble and playful. He jokes a lot and most especially he’s tolerant, he can endure anything that is why I love him. He is my friend and as a matter of fact my body belongs to him and him alone and his body belongs to me and me alone”, she said with a pretty smile on her face.
The father of the bride, Elder Friday Okanje Obaa in an interview expressed his joy watching his daughter exchange marital vows with the love of her life and starting a new home. He said: “I am very happy today, I thank God for a successful wedding. God has brought them together to benefit what He has destined for them. I pray that God should bless their new home with lovely children so that I can see my lovely grandchildren, I am happy to witness her start a new home of her own with the man she loves”, he said.
On his part, the groom, Comrade Sunday Abga Ngofa who is the current youth president of Elano Investments Limited revealed that one of the reasons why he got married to his wife is because of her character and the deep affection he has for her.
He said: “I am feeling like the happiest man on earth today, it is a dream comes true. I got married to her because of her good character, she is respectful, and of course as you can see she is equally beautiful. I love her body structure and am happy we finally tied the knot today because I have deep affection towards her”.
The groom further expressed his appreciation to all and sundry that graced his occasion and wished them safe journey to their various destinations.
