It was a glorious day for the families of Late Chief Mba Ollor Chu of Awalama Community in Alesa Clan and Late Elder Meshack Olakanwi Gomba Chu of Nworgor Community in Ogale Clan as their children, Miss Roseline Enaah Chu and Comrade Sunny Mba Ollor exchanged marital vows at the New Covenant Anglican Church, Ogale Eleme.
In a sermon, the officiating minister, Rev. Canon Kingsley Nwachukwu admonished the couple to love and respect each other and develop a true sense of proper understanding to build their home. “Sunny, it is good you love your wife no matter what comes out, please respect your wife very well and Roseline, please do well to be submissive to your husband, respect your husband and God will continue to keep your family safe forever”.
Making reference to the Scripture in Ephesians 5 verse 21, he said the couple should submit themselves to each other and also advised the wife to submit herself to her husband as unto the Lord and the husband should love his wife just as Christ loved the church and gave his life for the church.
“Roseline submit yourself to your husband as unto God, for your husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, so as the church is subject to Christ, that is how Roseline you are expected to be to your husband in everything and Sunny, love your wife even as Christ also loves the Church and gave His life for it, you should know that your wife is a weaker vessel but love her the same way you love yourself with all your heart, God knows that your wife is not a perfect person but it is good you love her in her offence, in her weakness, in her rebellious act, even if she does anything, please love her, no matter what she does please love her as Christ love the Church and gave His life for the Church, just love her and know that it is not me, so please obey the Bible”.
In his speech, the groom, Comrade Sunny Mba Ollor popularly known as Actwise described his wife as a special gift from God whose calmness, humility and gifted voice as a singer stood out among others, adding that that is why he nick-named her Nyime-Obari Sunny Mba-Ollor. “When I was praying, I told God to give me a wife that can sing very well and the God I am` serving answered my prayer by giving me a wife that can sing very well and today my wife can sing both S.S. & S and Hymes very well, she’s very calm and I love her humility, I know that my wife is a special gift from God, an Eleme man is incomplete without having a wife”, he said.
The groom expressed appreciation to all who graced the occasion, especially Prince Awalanta Ejire, Hon. Fineman Olungwe and His Royal Highness, Emere Godwin Bebe Okpabi amongst others who supported him one way or the other and prayed for most of his friends that has not find their life partners to locate their wives just as God has helped him locate his wife. In her speech, the bride, Roseline Sunny Mba- Ollor expressed happiness and thanks to God for the day, she also described her husband, Sunny Mba Ollor as a kind, loving man and a friend to all, especially those who are peaceful and God-fearing.
The bride’s father, Mr. Festus Chu who was overwhelmed with joy thanked God for making the ceremony a huge success. He said: “Today is the happiest day of my life, I pray God to bless their home with lovely children”. Mr. Chu advised her Roseline to be obedient and submissive to her husband in every good works as the Holy Scriptures says. Father of the groom, Mr. Eric Mba Ollor also expressed delight witnessing his son, Sunny exchange marital vows with the love of his life and starting new home. Mr. Mba Ollor advised the couple to embrace God, love each other and take each other in confidence at all time. He prayed for the same grace of God which has made the family members successful to be with the couple.
Dignitaries who graced the event include Hon. Prince Mike Awalanta, Hon. Fineman Olungwe, the Paramount Ruler of Ogale Clan, His Royal Highness, Emere Godwin Bebe Okpabi, Evangelist Isaac Chu and others.
Highlight of the reception ceremony which took place at the Calvary Anglican Church field, Alesa Eleme include cutting of cake, toast and dance by the couple and blessings by the Emere Godwin Bebe Okpabi.
